Josh joined the SHI team in 2018 as a videographer and producer. He first started creating videos on miniDV camcorders and basic software. Since then he has traveled the world filming and upgrading his skills. Josh loves to travel, eat good food, create art, and compete in OCR races! Adventure is his middle name! He recently competed in NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior.” Josh lives in Little Rock, Arkansas with his wife & 3 kids and runs a non-profit ministry called Well Fed which combats food insecurity with access to healthy food and education.

In an effort to market his consulting services, Wesley Deese, a student housing management veteran launched a podcast in an effort to help educate potential clients to better understand the complexities of owning and operating off-campus student housing. But it wasn’t just potential clients that became the audience. In fact, the core audience ended up being property management professionals within the student housing industry. They were looking for a resource where they could hear others talk about the same things they were facing and they were excited to hear from voices in the industry and their perspectives. That was in 2017. Since then, Student Housing Insight has evolved from a podcast to a platform. A platform where student housing professionals can network, share data and ideas, and be the go-to resource within the industry. Today, Student Housing Insight produces not only a podcast but a spectrum of virtual and in-person events. Additionally, the website hosts the SHI Community which is an online hub for student housing professionals and those servicing the industry
